The upcoming auction of 25 paintings by Indian artist M.F. Husain has sparked outrage due to their controversial depictions of revered Hindu deities and national symbols. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has called for a complete ban on the auction, claiming the works amount to anti-national and anti-Hindu sentiments. The group has also urged legal action against those attempting to sell or display such paintings, while the Pundole Art Gallery, where the auction is scheduled to take place, has declined to comment.
