According to her complaint, she was first raped by a man named Krishna and then repeatedly by a friend of his. Upon being found by police, she was rushed to the hospital, where she unfortunately delivered a stillborn child. The suspects are still on the run and the investigation is ongoing.

India and Bhutan have announced the launch of two major cross-border railway projects, which will connect Banarhat in West Bengal with Samtse in Bhutan, and Kokrajhar in Assam with Gelephu in Bhutan. The Ministry of Railways has launched the Amrit Bharat Express, connecting Berhampur in Odisha to Udhna in Surat, Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Tripura Sundari Temple Complex, one of the 51 revered Shaktipeethas, in Udaipur, Tripura. The complex includes a three-storeyed structure, a Shaktipeetha Park with replicas of all 51 shrines, and other facilities such as food courts, souvenir shops, and guest accommodation.
